The presence of Iberian and Roman settlements is proved by discoveries of remains such as ceramics and coins in the 'serra de l`espasa', 200 metres away from town. The best pieces are kept in the Museum of Reus. During the 16th century the town experienced an important growth. Its first church was built in 1583. This former church used to be located in front of the current Town Hall.
For many years he found shelter in the 'serra de Llaveria' and from that place fought for the rights of the Catalan nation. In his honour there is a footpath included in the footpath Network of Catalunya. |

- The Town Festival falls on the last weekend in July to honour our town's patron Saints, Sant Abdon and Sant Senén.
* All these celebrations are organised by the Town Council, the Festivities Commission and the Cultural Centre. The town also counts with a public library and other cultural associations. |

The Town Hall was rebuilt in 1990. In the building there is a ceramics mural sculpture on the grape vintage by sculptor Francesc Carulla accompanied by a poem by writer Marià Manent.
